Centre for Energy, Environment, and Sustainable Engineering (CEESE)
Welcome to The Centre for Energy, Environment, and Sustainable Engineering (CEESE) at the University of Huddersfield
The Centre for Energy, Environment and Sustainable Engineering (CEESE) is a multidisciplinary research centre based at the University of Huddersfield. Our research brings together thermofluids, renewable energy, computational fluid dynamics, digital twins, smart infrastructure and sustainable engineering to address major challenges facing society, industry and the built environment.
Our work focuses on developing practical, evidence-based solutions for cleaner energy systems, healthier indoor environments, efficient buildings, low-carbon technologies and resilient infrastructure. By combining experimental facilities, high-performance computing, advanced simulation, data-driven modelling and industry collaboration, CEESE supports the transition towards net zero, resource efficiency and more sustainable communities.
The Centre builds on the University’s strong track record in thermofluids, energy systems, high-performance computing and applied engineering research. Our team includes academics, researchers and doctoral students with expertise in fluid dynamics, heat transfer, renewable energy, smart buildings, indoor air quality, digital twin technologies, machine learning, environmental modelling, sensing, control systems and sustainable design.
