Cultures of Creative Health
Cultures of Creative Health: 01.01.24 - 31.12.24
Cultures of Creative Health was the place-based research festival from the School of Art & Humanities for 2024! The programme included collaborative community projects, creative residences, knowledge and cultural exchange projects, events and exhibitions and a Guest Lecture Series on Working With Communities.
The Cultures of Creative Health book documents these projects as well as including a range of case studies, interviews, position pieces and exhibitions from across the region of West Yorkshire. These contributions serve as evidence of Creative Health approaches and their potential impacts. The range of perspectives presented are place-based and place-specific. They point to what works, but also what the Creative Health sector in West Yorkshire needs to become in order to provide condition of opportunity for communities and practitioners to thrive. The publication has been co-produced in partnership and collaboration with the Creative Health Hub; a consortium network aligned to the West Yorkshire Creative Health System.

Cultures of Creative Health Podcasts
Each of our guest lectures was turned into a podcast to feed into Creative Health conversations going forward, as the programme progressed. This has formed an archive of specialists in the field of creative health, and we hope will prove useful beyond the programme!

Collections of Creative Health
What Are Art Collections For? presents selected paintings from the Kirklees Collection. The projects explores the relationship between art collections and health and was part of Cultures of Creative Health.

Creative Health in Communities
This publication presents the research undertaken across West Yorkshire over 9 months. Our project has investigated how creative health can reach communities and neighbourhoods to address health inequalities in place.
