This film was commissioned by the University of Huddersfield as a replacement to the event scheduled to take place at the Huddersfield Literature Festival in March 2020. Due to the Corona Virus pandemic this event did not take place. It contains a conversation between Dr Claire O'Callaghan (Loughborough University) and Adelle Hay on Anne Brontë, her writing, her legacy, and Adelle Hay's biography, Anne Brontë Reimagined: A View from the 21st Century, published by Saraband Press in January 2020. Bradford-based author of Ill Will, Michael Stewart leads a workshop on writing your very own Gothic story. Using Emily Brontë's The Tenant of Wildfell Hall as a focal point, Michael will explore Gothic tropes and themes and explain how you can use these in your own story.

Michael Stewart’s debut novel, King Crow, was published by Bluemoose Books in 2011. It is the winner of the Guardian’s Not-the-Booker Award. His other books include: Couples, Café Assassin and a short story collection, Mr Jolly. His latest novel, Ill Will: The Untold Story of Heathcliff, is published by HarperCollins.
