CHICAM supports a range of historic and literary projects and publications, including our staff and affiliates’ academic and media outputs and community collaborations.  Recent research highlights include:

Dr Merrick Burrows’ Haunted History Chronicles podcast which draws from his research into Victorian detective fiction.

Prof Jodie Matthews’ book on the history and literature of Britain’s canal network, which explores how canals contributed to our reliance on fossil fuels and enabled the slave trade

Research affiliate Ken Lee’s new publication, which deals with the life-narrative of Romani woman Esmeralda Lock: With heavy emphasis on my work for his methodology.

Dr Rebecca Gill’s recent publication, co-written with Tatiana Eichert, looks at the formation of the Save the Children Fund and the work of Emily Hobhouse in feeding children in Germany after the First World War: Humanitarianism and the Greater War, 1914–24 | manchesterhive

Prof Katherine Lewis has appeared several times on the BBC radio In Our Time show, most recently to discuss Julian of Norwich:  BBC Radio 4 - In Our Time, Julian of Norwich.  Prof Lewis was also historical advisor for the Sky History production Royal Bastards: Watch Royal Bastards:Rise of the Tudors trailer | Sky HISTORY TV Channel.
