About the exhibition
Ryan Durrant's paintings explore the effects of repetition, from the transformation of the singular original subject into multiples, from isolation to collective 'principles of individuation'. Engaging in the processes of 'repeat', the original is simultaneously destroyed and reaffirmed. The vagaries of 'likeness' and realities of 'difference' become apparent through the paintings on display in this exhibition and provide a commentary on the importance of the individual part and its relationship to the whole.
