Cultures of Sound was the School of Arts & Humanities contribution to Kirklees Year of Music, and alongside the rich programme of public cultural activity which you can find out about below, a series of academic essays were commissioned to explore sound from a diverse range of research perspectives.

The Cultures of Sound book features these essays interspersed with reflections on the live activities, and photographic documentation. Designed by A.N.D Studio, this publication acts as a document and celebration of the research and creative practices that constitute the School of Art & Humanities, and the communities of Kirklees.
